Effect of Tin Addition on Shape Memory Effect and Mechanical Properties of Cu-Al-Ni Shape Memory Alloy

This study examines the effect of Sn additions on Cu-14%Al-4.5%Ni shape memory alloy. Sn was added in three different percentages (0.3,1,3) %. The alloys were mechanically tested both in compression test and micro hardness test. Also, a thermo-mechanical test was performed on the alloys. Results showed an increase in the transformation temperature outside the domain and also a better recovery strain with the increase of Sn percentage of 3% Sn addition showed the best results in mechanical properties while the 3% Sn showed a better Shape Memory Properties near to super elastic.

Accuracy Evaluation of SRTM (used in Google Earth) by Comparison with National Topographic maps (1:50,000) in North of Iraq

Digital Elevation Models (DEM) of a region can be generated from stereo
pairs of satellite images , enables the work to improve decision-making, take faster and more informed action based on geospatial information, but some times these data may be unavailable or expensive for students to use it in a mapping and preliminary design. Today Google Earth Enterprise helps organizations with amazing speed, full context, imagery and other geospatial data DEM with incredible resource for downloading topo data, makes that information accessible
to all employees who need access via data with no cost. Google earth Geospatial data DEM it been lunched from (SRTM) NASAs Shuttle Radar Topography Mission. The aim of our study is to assess the quality of the GE-SRTM-DEM derived from the X-SAR system and comparing it with selected national topographical maps for north of Iraq with scale 1:50,000 . An important aspect of the study is to be able to conclude on the real relevancy of the GE-SRTM product compared to the already existing products, for instance is it to be considered as a new global topographic reference or should it be only limited to some applications
such as GIS-projects, hydrological, mapping, even it can be used in preliminary design stage for projects.

Contour and Digital Terrain Models of Soil Properties Digital Maps Using Geographic Information System

The research aims to use the technical abilities for geographic information system in the field of designing and drawing maps by saving huge amount of information in a fast and organized way also to shows data and maps from the computer in high speed. In addition it makes corrections on maps in high speed and in the least cost and time. Also high accuracy in data analysis which is difficult in manual ways.
Further more it enables as to analyze the geographic information and connect between them in an easy way. It takes out new information from the original information on the maps like taking out digital terrain model from the Contour Maps and to show loca information system on the computer with maximization and minimization also changing the scale easily and the ability of three dimensions showing. In this study the information were gathered from the soil reports of the National
Center for Construction Laboratories for different parts of Baghdad area in addition to Laboratory reports done by Consultation Bureaus. Three soil properties were studied permeability as a physical property, pH as a chemical property and bearing capacity of soil as a engineering property. These data were treated and analyzed by using geographic information system to produce contour maps, after that local
analysis was done for data to come up with digital terrain models in a three dimensional figure to manifest earth surface. By these abilities, a digital data base was made for these properties that can be generalization for all soil properties and for all parts of Iraq, which enables to do the recyclization and treatment and analysis easily in making the designing and planning of any engineering project
