Influence of Annealing on Properties of Cadmium Oxide thin Films Prepared by Spray Pyrolysis

CdO thin films have been deposited by Spray Pyrolysis Technique (SPT) on a glass substrate. The structural and optical properties of thin films are studied at different annealing temperatures 100, 200 and 300 Co. By using X-Ray Diffraction, XRD patterns indicated that films are polycrystalline innature and cubic phase with preferred orientation along the plane (111). The optical properties using UV-VIS spectroscopy show that the direct band gaps decreased from (3 to 2.75) eV with increasing the annealing temperature from(100-300)Co, this decreasing could be ascribed to increase of the localized states available in band gap which referred by Urbach,s energy value.

Synthetic, Structural and Optical Properties of Cds Nano particles Prepared by Chemical Method

In this work, CdS nanoparticles were synthesized via chemical method using thioacetamide (TA). X- ray diffraction (XRD), Atomic force microscopy (AFM) and UV-VIS transmission spectroscopy were employed to characterize the size, morphology, crystalline structure and optical properties of the prepared material. X-ray diffraction analysis confirms the formation of cubical and hexagonal structures of CdS nanoparticle with average particle size (3.2nm). AFM show the formation of aggregate of nanoparticle with particle size ranging 7 – 20 (nm). From the shift in optical band gap, particles size can be calculated using Effective mass approximation (EMA) was (2.3nm), and found a good agreement with those determined from XRD broadening, while AFM show higher particle size due to aggregation of nanoparticles.

Effect of Thickness to the Structure Properties of CdO Thin Films

In this paper CdO thin films were prepared by using chemical bath deposition
method. Three different thicknesses of CdO films (84.1nm, 165.1nm, 194.23nm) were
used .x-ray diffraction technique has confirmed the formation of cadmium oxide,
where reveals the changes in films structure with thickness increase. Many structural
properties and constants have been studied and calculated by using the formation from
XRD patterns and ASTM chart such as grain size, FWHM, integral breadth, shape
factor, texture coefficient, and number of layers .These structural constants were
plotted as a function of the films thicknesses. The results indicate that the high grain
size (21.557nm) which was calculated for crystalline plane (111) was corresponding to
the high film thickness (194.23nm), while larger number of layer obtained for the film
thickness 165.2nm.
