Improvement of DOA Estimation based on Lanczos Algorithm

In this paper, the problem of estimating the Direction Of Arrival (DOA) is presented. DOA based on Eigen Vector Decomposition (EVD) shows that the computational complexities are costly and high so that eigen structure algorithms suffer for limited application in real time signal processing environment, to reduce the computational complexities, a new approach base Lanczos algorithm is proposed instead of using Eigen Vector Decomposition.
Since the Minimum-Norm Method (MNM) based on EVD is considered as one of the best techniques for DOA, Therefore, one of the efforts in this paper is directed to investigate the performance of Minimum-Norm Method (MNM) and compare it with Proposed Method (PM), so different computer simulation programs were used to do this job. The simulation results done by assist of (Matlab ver.7), shows that the proposed method can outperform better results to make the proposed method better suitable for radar, sonar, and passive detection application.

Study of Signal Estimation Parameters via Rotational Invariance Technique by Using Ants Colony Optimization Algorithm

In this paper, an algorithm based on Ants Colony Optimization (ACO) is
proposed for extraction of the Directions of Arrival (DOA) of several signals
impinging on uniform linear arrays. This algorithm is used to reduce the
computation time and complexity that occur in Estimation of Signal Parameters
via Rotational Invariance Technique (ESPRIT). In order to illustrate the accuracy
and flexibility of the proposed algorithm, several simulation cases introduce of
ESPRIT-DOA estimation by using ACO algorithm in environment of Matlab 7.8
program. Results are statistically analyzed in order to conclude from it the
algorithm's accuracy and reliability

High Resolution Direction-of-Arrival Estimation Using Genetic Algorithm

This paper presents an application of a performance analysis of a genetic algorithm GA developed for extraction of the directions of arrival DOA of several signals impinging on uniform linear arrays. The first part of this paper describes the maximum likelihood ML technique of direction of arrival estimation with genetic algorithm. The second part presents some illustrative simulation cases of ML-DOA estimation by using GA. Results are statistically analyzed in order to conclude from it the algorithm's accuracy and reliability.
