A Brief about the Editor
My decision to pursue a career in Chemical Engineering seemed logical, as my interest in science and engineering dates all the way back to my high school years, when I excelled in Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics. After graduating from Kuwait University in 2000, I sought employment with a company that would allow me to leverage my strong background in order to expand my experience and develop my talent. As a result, I joined Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) as a process engineer, where I was able to design, monitor, and troubleshoot processes for assigned refinery units and off-site facilities. Additionally, I have participated in activities aimed at conserving energy and reducing pollution. In 2003, the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) awarded me a full government scholarship to continue my master's degree in applied process control at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne. I then joined the College of Technological Studies as a faculty member in the Department of Chemical Engineering Technology after receiving my master’s degree. In 2009, the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training (PAAET) awarded me another full government scholarship to continue my PhD studies in water desalination at the University of Surrey. I was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering Technology after receiving my PhD from the University of Surrey. My research interests are focused on the fields of water technology, desalination, wastewater treatment, energy, membrane technology, and nanotechnology. I have numerous publications in the fields of water, energy, membrane technology, and nanotechnology. Additionally, I have presented at numerous international conferences and peer-reviewed numerous articles published in international journals.
